This is a heavy-duty, high performance material that many companies will use only for exhaust valves because it is so expensive. They then will use a lesser grade of stainless material for the intake valves. NOTE: When installing oversize intake and exhaust valves in the same head it is important to check for valve to valve intersection. It is sometimes necessary to sink the valves in the head to achieve the proper clearance. It is the responsibility of the engine builder to check all clearances before start up.

KIBBLEWHITE PRECISION MACHINE (KPMI)

Fully CNC machined White Diamond™ Valves are made from a one-piece

forging of either EV8 Stainless Steel or Inconel-751. These materials have proven heat and corrosion resistance properties. Each valve is designed using Finite Element Analysis software, and profiles are tested on our computerized flow bench. Strict attention is paid to the surface preparation of the valves, and the purity of the chrome is closely monitored. A 360° anode is used to produce the highest possible grade of hard chrome finish. White Diamond™ Valves are light, strong, one piece forgings with profiles that provide excellent flow characteristics.

All KPMI Black Diamond™ Stainless Steel Valves are impregnated by a

special German process to .002" deep with a .0002" surface build-up to improve wear properties and reduce friction. This process provides resistance to corrosion and wear that is superior to that developed by hard chromium and electrolysis nickel plating. These valves are light and the profiles provide excellent flow characteristics.

KPMI also offers an Inconel exhaust valve (1 pc. forging) for blown and fuel engines and Tensilite valves which are 1 pc. titanium forgings.

The KPMI Black Diamond valve is a valve that has undergone a proprietary multi-stage heat-treatment and surface finish process. This treatment actually reacts with the parent material to create a specific hardness to a depth of .002" while maintaining straightness. Once the desired hardness and surface finish are achieved, the valve undergoes a final treatment, which helps prevent galling. These processes, combined with the high-quality EV8 material have combined to create a valve that is strong and virtually impervious to stem wear.
